Just after Bugatti unveiled its tourbillon supercar, Jacob & Co. launched a timepiece to complement it – the Bugatti Tourbillon.
This tourbillon watch blends some of the most distinctive design elements of the car, exuding luxury in both style and mechanics. It combines retrograde time indication with a flying tourbillon and features a striking automatic mechanism modeled after a V16 engine.
At first glance, the tourbillon watch might seem extravagant, but it subtly incorporates numerous details that pay homage to Bugatti's latest supercar. Besides the obvious engine automatic mechanism, the case design also borrows from the car's distinctive dashboard layout and indicators.

This watch makes no attempt to conceal its automotive elements, adopting the design concept of the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon watch, aiming to pay tribute to the supercar of the same name. Like the Chiron watch, this tourbillon timepiece is an oversized mechanical masterpiece.
The highlight of the tourbillon watch is undoubtedly its sapphire crystal-milled V16 engine automatic mechanism. This simulated engine features eight pairs of movable titanium pistons and polished components designed to resemble the intake manifold of a Bugatti V16 engine. When the automatic mechanism is activated, the pistons "fire" in a specific sequence, creating a spectacular display.
Above the V16 engine block is the time display. Its layout mimics a car dashboard, with the flying tourbillon and power reserve indicator flanking the main dial. The flying tourbillon oscillates at 3 Hz, completing one rotation every 30 seconds, making it the fastest rotating tourbillon ever produced by Jacob & Co.
The time display uses a retrograde design, but with slight modifications to better fit the automotive theme. The retrograde hour markers do not start from 12 o'clock, but from zero, echoing the design of a tachometer.
The power reserve indicator features two coaxial hands, one indicating the power reserve of the chronograph mechanism and the other indicating the power reserve of the automatic mechanism.
The movement, manufactured by Concepto—the same movement specialist that helped develop the dashboard of the Tourbillon supercar—has four mainspring barrels, arranged in pairs: one for chronograph and the other for the energy-intensive automatic mechanism.
The movement and the operation of the mainspring barrels are visible through the sapphire crystal case back. This design results in a 48-hour power reserve, while the double mainspring barrels of the automatic mechanism support 20 animated sequences.
This movement, named JCAM55, is manual-winding. The large crown at 6 o'clock winds both the automatic mechanism and the mainspring barrels simultaneously. Adjusting the time requires pulling out a tab on the case back.
